Your Chariot Awaits
Unwind in one of our massage rooms. It’s magic.
Since most of us are not symmetrical on our left and right sides, deep tissue massage is often successful in creating symmetry in the legs and hips, allowing for low back comfort. Restricted range of motion occurs in the smaller, deeper muscles, which are sometimes hard to access. Using deep tissue massage, we can find our way under the larger muscle groups, to the more strained muscles we use for articulation. Deep tissue does not mean soreness or bruising. Our experienced therapists at Unwind SRQ take their time and work with you, not against you.
Swedish massage is a gentle type of full-body massage. It can help release muscle knots, and it’s also a good choice for when you want to fully relax during a massage. Because of it’s therapeutic properties, this modality should be incorporated into all maintenance massage routines.
Neuromuscular Therapy uses targeted, specific, deep tissue friction, to make changes to unhealthy tissue or dysfunctional tissue patterns. We use a precise strategy to interrupt scar tissue from a previous injury or a chronic muscular condition, resulting from repetitive motion, from work or play. This is a modality that we take very seriously, and we plan several treatments to resolve the issue. You can expect a lot of communication with your therapist. The Neuromuscular approach addresses both the source of the discomfort and also areas where the pattern refers. We actively search for all components of an injury, so we can help resolve chronic joint and muscle issues. We work hard to make you feel great!
Fascia is the connective tissue that holds you together. There is communication via the nervous system throughout this tissue. This is why when one part of your body hurts, often we will begin a massage somewhere else. Myofascial Release massage is Slow, deep massage that can connect these areas and resolve miscommunication of your soft tissue patterns.
At Unwind, we recognize the glorious glow of a mother-to-be! We know how beneficial it is to take an hour to be pampered, especially if you’re working or have a little one at home.
Traditional Massage of Thailand (Nuad Bo Rarn)
This unique massage experience is a fully clothed Ancient ritual using the hands, feet and elbows of the therapist to stretch, compress and balance the body and energy of the recipient. Working with the sen lines to balance body and mind, removing blockages that may be muscle deep.
Reflexology is a 30-minute or 60-minute treatment that can stand alone, or be combined with a service. It’s a massage modality that uses points on the feet and ankles that correlate with body systems and organs. This is based on an Eastern theory of energetic flow and blockages. The theory connects the treatment to body and brain chemistry, where the chemical receptors of serotonin and dopamine are activated, along with other feel-good hormones. The intention of this treatment is to improve sleep, appetite, and mood. Reflexology is also a luxurious treat to invigorate the feet!
Stinky or sweet, we are happy to create a specific blend for your massage needs. We can create an aromatic experience or a Therapeutic blend.
Dry Brushing is an ancient, Ayurvedic ritual. We use a dry, natural-bristle wooden brush, and long comforting strokes toward the heart. The purpose is to increase lymphatic flow and stimulate the skin. Following the brush strokes is a generous application of a customized Ayurvedic oil blend.
Hot & Cold Stones
Hot and Cold Stone Therapy is a luxurious experience that uses alternating hot and cold basalt stones. It is invigorating and excellent for blood flow.
